About Liberica, Barako

Introduced to Batangas in the 1740s, Barako became the pride of Philippine coffee and helped make the country the 4th largest coffee exporter by the late 1800s. Today, it represents less than 2% of global production, making it one of the world’s rarest coffees and a lasting symbol of Filipino heritage and resilience.

Unlike the Arabica species we know and love in specialty coffee, Liberica offers a strikingly different experience— lower acidity, bolder, smoky, and truly one of a kind.

Minorya Coffee preserves this legacy by cultivating seedlings, supporting backyard farms, and sharing Barako worldwide.
