In 2023, we traveled to Peru to spend time with the people behind Valle Inca, a producer group in the mountains of Cusco. We arrived to taste coffee and left with a deep appreciation for the warmth of the people, the treasured memories made while sharing meals, and a landscape that seemed to stretch endlessly in every direction. Working alongside Valle Inca, the Guevara family is part of a community committed to improving quality through collaboration, transparency, and long-term investment in one another. Led by José Prudencio Vargas Sáez, Valle Inca has created opportunities for smallholder producers by paying fair prices, reinvesting in local infrastructure, and helping farmers bring their coffees to the specialty market on their own terms.
